Liliana Saap, M.D., is a highly-trained board certified dermatologist who has years of experience treating all types of dermatological concerns, ranging from serious skin cancers that require surgery, to cosmetic procedures that enhance skin texture and appearance.
Dr. Saap is a certified Mohs surgeon and the only one offering this exacting procedure part-time in the Laredo area. Mohs is a microscopically controlled surgery where cancerous tissue is removed and healthy tissue is spared. It is very effective for common types of skin cancer, and is often used on and around the face.
Other surgical procedures performed by Dr. Saap include scar revision, sclerotherapy, subcision, and surgical treatments for rhinophyma.
In addition to treating surgical dermatology issues, Dr. Saap offers a full array of cosmetic dermatology treatments, including Botox® and cosmetic injectable fillers, chemical peels, laser-based therapies, and facial and skin rejuvenation.
Dr. Saap is a caring physician who uses her vast knowledge and instruction to strive for the best patient outcomes. She received her medical degree from University of Miami School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at Yale New Haven Hospital-Yale University in Connecticut. In addition to her medical degree, Dr. Saap completed her dermatology residency at Roger Williams Medical Center affiliated with Boston University.
As part of her extensive training, Dr. Saap has completed fellowships in Wound Healing; Mohs, Reconstruction, Lasers and Cosmetic Dermatology; and a Mohs College Fellowship in Skin Cancer, Mohs and Reconstruction. She is a thought leader and innovator in dermatology and skin health.
As a dermatologist of distinction, Dr. Saap has been certified by the American Board of Dermatology since 2005. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Surgery. And she is a local favorite physician, being named in San Antonio Scene’s Best Doctors list 2014, 2015 and 2016.
